Rules Of American Football – Derived From Other Popular Versions Of The Traditional Game
Though derived from other popular versions of the traditional game as played in other countries, American Football can be very confusing, especially for the non-Americans. If you are intrigued by this, here are the basic rules for you to enjoy this thrilling game.
As usual, there are two teams of eleven players each, known as ‘defense’ and ‘offense’, playing on a field, 160 yards long and 100 yards wide, which is divided into strips by white lines, marked every 10 yards.
You should understand that the game is based on the rule that the offensive team must attempt to cover a 10-yard section of the field in four (or fewer) “downs” (or “plays”). If they fail in their attempt, the ball will be possessed by the other team which then gets a chance on the other team. On the other hand, if their attempt succeeds, the down is reset to 1, and they attempt to move an additional 10 yards and continue this until the end zone.
The offense may run with the ball or throw it, in its attempts to reach the end zone while it’s for the defense to engage the players with the ball on the ground to stop them from reaching the desired zone.
Like any other game, the team scoring more points is the winner, but in case of American Football, the final score can be reached by many different ways:
A touchdown carries six points and is awarded when a player from either team is successful in carrying the ball into the end-zone of the opposing team. On scoring a touchdown, a player is given an option: kick the ball over the crossbar positioned between the goal posts, for one extra point or attempt for two extra points by trying to move forward the ball into the end-zone again (the ball is initially kept on the 2-yard line on taking this option).

Why I Chose The Vortex Vigilon by NERF
The Nerf Vortex line is the newest in a long line of successful Nerf products that have been revolutionizing the toy industry since the late 1960′s. A toy brand that began with a simple foam ball that was house and people safe has become a cultural necessity that is enjoyed by everyone from 2 to 80 years old. Nerf wars have become one of the more common activities for adults in office buildings and back yards, while Nerf blasters are on the wish list of every little boy from 4 years old and up. Nerf toys are, in short, essential to a happy existence.
The Nerf Vortex line took all of the positive attributes of the traditional blasters and improved upon them. They used the same foam technology that was used in their darts and came up with a more aerodynamic ammo type in the shape of a disc. They took the durability of their blasters and made bigger, heavier blasters for their new discs. They used all of the safety aspects of the older designs to come up with new features that maintain that safety while creating more usability.
The Vortex Vigilon is a one of the most popular Nerf Vortex blasters. This is partly because of its extreme affordability, but many other positive attributes factor into its popularity. Some of these include:
- Extreme durability
- Higher accuracy than traditional plunger blasters
- More durable, easy to see ammo
- Disc eject function for quickly clearing jammed discs
- Fast reload system
- Very reasonable pricing.
The first of these, the extreme durability, makes the Vortex Vigilon ideal for teen aged users who are hard on their toys. The same feature, though, means that the Nerf Vigilon has a bulkier design and is difficult and unweildy for people with small hands, and especially for younger children. However, if you’re planning on Nerf wars in the great out of doors, this is the ideal weapon.
How to Buy a Car Trailer for Cars and Trucks
With the upcoming 2012 MegaSpeed Custom Car and Truck Show in Toronto, we thought we’d put together a helpful list of things to consider prior to purchasing a car trailer to haul your vehicle. There are differences in the types and styles of trailer you will need based on the car or truck you are hauling and the vehicle you are using to pull the car trailer. Keep a pen and paper handy as you answer these questions.
1. First, what are you going to haul? If it is a race car, antique car, custom muscle car, will an open cargo trailer suffice; or, will you need an enclosed trailer with additional storage options?
2. What vehicle are you going to use to pull the car trailer? It’s important to know the total weight of the vehicle that is being loaded, the weight of the trailer you’re considering and the towing vehicle to ensure they will all work together. Otherwise, you’ll risk unwanted damage.
3. What type of hitch will you need to pull the car trailer and what will you need to make sure you can get it stopped. Your dealer should be able to help you with the specs needed for the hitch. However, you will need to look into brakes and consider whether electric or hydraulic brakes are a better option.
4. How do you plan to load and unload the car or truck onto the trailer and will you be hauling more than one automobile?
5. Where will the trailer be stored when not it use? If you are storing it in a garage, barn, machine shed or shop, be sure that the trailer will clear the entrance doors. Moreover, some like to store the trailer on its side. Is that possible in the space you’re considering?
The Greatest Boston Celtics Team of All Time
The Boston Celtics are the most successful franchise in NBA history. They have a league record 17 world championships and their history is filled with excellent players as well as hall of famers. They were blessed to have legendary players such as Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Bill Sharman, John Havlicek, Tommy Heinsohn and legendary head coach Red Auerbach to lead them in the late 50s to early 60s. They have won an astounding 11 world titles under Red Auerbach and Bill Russell’s leadership.
Shortly after Bill Russell officially retired as player-coach in 1969, the team was in rebuilding mode and subsequently signed Dave Cowens, Jo Jo White, and Paul Silas. They won two championships with this core with the help of former Boston player and then coach Tom Heinsohn.
By the late 70s they have rebuilt their team to be championship contenders again as they drafted rookie forward Larry Bird in the 1978 draft despite knowing that he will not play with the team for another year. By the 1980-81 season, during Larry Bird’s second year with the Celtics, they were able to assemble a championship team consisted of Cedric Maxwell, Larry Bird, Robert Parish, and Kevin McHale. By the 1983 season they have added point guard Dennis Johnson to their already formidable group and by the 1985 season added center Bill Walton as well. By this time they had won another three championships before Bird officially retired due to back injuries in 1992.
The 1985-86 Celtics is the greatest Boston Celtics team in franchise history. The Celtics won 67 games and went 40-1 at the Boston Garden. The 40-1 home record is still the best home record by any team in NBA history. Bird won his third consecutive MVP award putting him in select company as only him, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain garnered the feat of getting three consecutive MVP trophies in three years.
